The Oriskany Falls branch of the Berkshire Bank was robbed this morning causing a lockout at WCS for precautionary safety measures. The lockout was lifted at approximately 3:30 pm, after extra safety precautions were made for student dismissal.

From the Oneida County Sheriff:
"According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, the Berkshire Bank was robbed at approximately 11:15am this morning. Sheriff's Maciol stated that a white male in his fifties wearing a cowboy hat entered the bank . He displayed what appeared to be a handgun and demanded money. The suspect left on foot onto main Street with an undermined amount of money. Members of the Sheriff's criminal investigation unit and forensic unit are on the scene. The Sheriff's Office is being assisted at the scene by the NYSP . Sheriff's Office is asking anyone with information to contact them at 315-736-0141. The investigation is ongoing and more information will follow as it becomes available."

Tuesday was Teacher Appreciation Day, and the High School Student Council celebrated with a Mystery Locker game with 4 winning combinations that would open to reveal gift cards to local businesses. 


You can celebrate Nurses and Nursing Homes extra next week at the WRCC Open House on Friday, May 17th from 10a-5pm. Loads of activities for the young and old are planned!

The appearance of the sun !  WKTV reported that the last completely dry day was previously April 25th. Enjoy those blue skies while you can!


The collapsed sewer drain was patched up earlier this week in the Green Acres Plaza parking lot.
