With the executive order for face masks, and out of compassion for those around us, individuals, organizations, and businesses are helping to make sure they are available to our community. Whether you sew, or can contribute in other ways, you can help. Contact the Layers of Love, local mask sewing group.
"Our Layers of Love Sewers group has made over 6,000 masks that have gone to 2 hospitals, health care professionals working in doctor's offices, nursing homes, with challenged adults and children are UCP sites, 3 area prisons vulnerable populations young and old because of cancer or other conditions, Soup kitchens and churches that feed 150+ different people. We make them for the people who make and hand out the food but for the people receiving the food and their families.
We make them for essential workers and for those who ask.
Last Tuesday we had a mask handout for our school district communities during our elementary school's (MPS) free milk pick up. We live in a rural area including the communities of Waterville, North Brookfield, Oriskany Falls and Deansboro. Long after the milk was gone we were still handing out free masks to a never ending procession of cars filled with polite, thankful people of all ages!
We were cleaned out of masks and was no t to have another mask handout as soon as possible!
Our Sewers' group have been sewing like crazy.
Since all our masks are free we rely on donations of material, elastic and money to buy supplies!
We've had many donations of cotton material from quilters,and other sewers, elastic (1/4 or 1/8") and monetary donations.
I'd anybody would share this or can help us out during these difficult time we would appreciate it. No amount is too small."

Meet at the High School at 5:30 pm tonight to celebrate a 6th and Arletta Wright's 95th Birthday!

Tuesday's weather took a turn at about 6 pm that had many a Central New Yorker groaning.  If nothing else, it made for beautiful views Wednesday morning. Luckily, as the sun warmed the day up, it has already melted away.








Now by noon, the sky is blue and the sun is shining. We recommend anyone who is able to take advantage of it!
