- WEATHER -

After a warm spring day today, temperatures fall back below normal beginning Monday. In fact, low temperatures Monday night/early Tuesday morning will likely fall to around or below freezing.  Ever wonder when the growing season begins where you live (when we start issuing frost/freeze products for the season)? Here is a regional map that shows the median date of the last spring freeze.

- AROUND TOWN -

With the news that school buildings will remain closed for the remainder of the 2019-2020 year,
Adopt a Senior Oneida County was created on Friday.
Community members are able to "Adopt" a High School Senior to help make this time a little more special.

Saturday the Senior High Student Council drove around to deliver a Senior Sign to each WCS Class of 2020 Senior. Add that to one more "train" of celebration created in the spirit of keeping connection and morale high.  More and more decorated doorways, celebrating these seniors are popping up as well. As we can't be everywhere at once, but would love to recognize each and every one, please share your with us!

While it would have been a beautiful day for the Daniel Barden Mudfest, participants will have to cross their fingers for equally kind weather for the rescheduled date of October 31st.  In the meantime, Saturday's Chalk the Walk Virtual Event produced some beautiful results.

In more good news:

We understand this has been a trying time for the members of our community. We know that one of the biggest challenges is making sure that there is food on the table for our families. The Waterville Rotary was going to purchase a special item for the Waterville Food Pantry. However, when we were going to pay for the items we were told that it was a donation from Bruce Pryputniewicz from the Pryputniewicz Farm located on Doolittle Rd in Sauquoit. This allowed our donation to go to other items that are not typically found in a food pantry but are very much in need.

Even though we are apart, we are stronger together❤️

Yours in service,
The Waterville Rotary
