- AROUND TOWN -

Wednesday evening, the first Summer Concert at the Bandstand took place for 2020! There was a good deal of uncertainty whether or not these concerts would be able to happen this year. There was a lot of grateful noise when they returned.

That beautiful evening, the Perseid Meteor shower was visible with the naked eye in our dark, country skies- a relief to many after Tuesday was so cloudy. The next morning, Thursday, dawned brilliantly and made way for another chance for distanced summer entertainment at the Waterville Public Library.

Illusionist Leon Etienne performed outdoors by the Barton-Brown Observatory for the Lemonade on the Lawn summer events. The Waterville Rotary Club provided and served food, the proceeds of which will go to Layers of Love, the local sewing device working on providing masks for all WCSD students. The group is looking for sewing help for any interested.

Village of Waterville residents, don't forget to email for your free Summer Rec. in a Bag! Pick up available at the library during regular hours. Registration required first. Email mbarnes3386@gmail.com
