The UPD would like to warn the public of a recent spike in counterfiet money. The fake bills are primarily $ 100 bills and are very sophisticated. Anyone that accepts currency should be escpecially diligent with these bills and use a security pen to check the money prior to accepting it. Anyone that information on who is passing this money should call local law enforcement.

Want to look at stars from a dark sky location? Come to our free Stargazing event at our Barton-Brown Observatory, on the grounds of the Waterville Public Library at 206 White Street, Waterville NY.
The winter constellations are up, including Orion with its extremely bright and fascinating Orion Nebula! Enjoy a tour of the night sky, and a view of Jupiter like you've never seen it before!

Todd Coon the father of four young children was the only one home at the time when the fire broke out. Todd was asleep because he works third shift. By the grace of God, Kurt Carney, his neighbor was unexpectedly home at the time. After many attempts, Kurt was able to wake Todd and he escaped safely, but all of their belongings are gone. Joseph E. Joe became a member of the Oriskany Falls Fire Department in 1968. Over his 50+ years, he served in many capacities including; the department Secretary, President, long time Fire Commissioner and earned Life-Member status. In addition, he served as Mayor of our Village from 1974 to 1977. His contributions to our department during his years of service are immeasurable. He was an integral part of many activities of yesteryear including being the Chairman of the Snowmobile races, Motocross races and Field Day Committee, as well as a long time delegate to the Oneida County Fireman’s Association.
