Lee published the novel "To Kill a Mockingbird" in 1960,
and won the Pulitzer Prize the following year.
In 1962 the film was released with Academy Award nominations and wins.
Both the book and film are often considered essential to the American canon.

By the grace of God, Kurt Carney, his neighbor was unexpectedly home at the time. After many attempts, Kurt was able to wake Todd and he escaped safely, but all of their belongings are gone.
