OCTOBER 31st FLOODING ASSISTANCE:
Residents may report their needs to HOOAD by calling 2-1-1, a toll free, health and human service hot-line that can be dialed 24/7 to connect callers to existing local services quickly and easily. Calls are confidential and free. Here are some of the types of calls that 2-1-1 receives after a flood:
• “Our basement was flooded, and even though it was pumped out, there’s still mud.”
• “My furnace and hot water heater were flooded out and I didn’t have insurance.”
• “We were flooded and now there’s mold. What can I do to be sure we are safe?”
• “Ever since the flood, I’ve been really depressed. Who can I talk to?”
• “Where I was living was flooded. I’ve been staying with friends and family ever since, but I need to find a permanent solution.”
• “I’m on SNAP and lost food because our power was out for so long. How can I get food for my family?”

On Monday at 11 a.m. Oneida county will be opening emergency service centers
at the following locations:
• Whitesboro Fire Department, 171 Oriskany Blvd., Whitesboro
• West Canada Creek Estates,12275 State Route 28, Poland (Town of Deerfield)
• Willowvale Fire Department, 3459 Oneida St., Chadwicks
• The Community Foundation of Herkimer & Oneida Counties, 2608 Genesee St., Utica

Mohawk Valley residents in need of immediate assistance due to flood damage can also call the Red Cross Emergency Communications Center at (800) 831-0927.

Friday night, Waterville still put a lot of positive energy into 2 great WCS games, as the Girls Varsity Soccer played  Little Falls for Sectional Title, and the Varsity Football played Beaver River. Including what must have included exhausted Fire Department Volunteers still giving them a send off!

After an undefeated season, the Girls Soccer team was tied 1-1 with Little Falls, and only lost to a penalty kick in the end.  Little Falls moves on, but ties with WCS to earn the Sectional III, Class C Title.  Congratulations Girls on an outstanding season!


Varsity Football will move on to play Frankfort-Schuylar at the Carrier Dome this Saturday at 11 am after defeating Beaver River on Friday!  After 15 years, Waterville fans are rev'd up for this achievement!  What a Fall for WCS sports!

We hope you're enjoying that new Stop Bar in front of the Green Acres (Dollar General/Post Office) parking lot! Moving the stop bar back to before the parking lot entrance significantly improves the flow of traffic on both sides of the street.





Down the road, the solar powered speed sign is excellent reminder to drivers if nothing else.


Between the wind, and entering into November, only a few trees still contain leaves, let alone vibrant ones!


While roadside farm stands are winding down, there's ample amount of Autumn decor still around for those not ready to jump on the more glittery holiday train yet.
