From the Waterville Pop Warner:
"We are so proud of our Pee Wee Cheer team! They have worked very hard this season to take their team to the next level and it paid off today! Several of these girls have been on the teams that won 2015 and 2016 Tri-Valley championship titles. This year they not only won a 2017 Tri-Valley championship. They were crowned the Grand Champions of the entire competition, which included 40 different teams from Tri-Valley and the Greater Rochester region! They also won 1st place in 5 out of 6 award categories in their division! We are so proud of these girls and their coaches, Erin Glazier and Adrianna Zombek! They will now travel to NJ to compete in the Eastern Regional tournament and a chance to advance to the National Finals in Disney World!"

Also advancing, the Varsity Girls Soccer Team won, 7-0, against Stockbridge Valley during the Quarterfinals on Friday.  Congratulations!  We'll all be cheering as the girls take on Cincinnatus on Wednesday in Chittenango.

MPS participated in the Big Apple Crunch last Thursday, Oct. 19th for the 3rd year in a row.
Superintendent Chafee captured it on Twitter, as photographed below.
About the Big Apple Crunch:
"The Big Apple Crunch originated in New York City in 2012.  It was created by nonprofit GrowNYC in partnership with the NYC Office of Food Policy as NYC's way of celebrating Food Day. In its first year, approximately 400,000 New Yorkers bit into a locally grown New York State apple at the same time on Food Day, October 24th. In 2013, the Big Apple Crunch in New York City set a world record with 1,000,000 people participating. Since then, the activity has spread across the country, and thousands of locations have participated in Apple Crunches on and around October 24th in celebration of National Food Day."
