A new exhibition at The Waterville Public Gallery:
Appalachian Walks
photos by Virginia Keith
"Bill Bryson's A Walk In The Woods" is his hilarious and sometimes painful account of hiking the Appalachian Trail.  My own walks in the Appalachian woods are more frequent and less ambitious as I am generally accompanied by two energetic sporting dogs.  I am often stopped in my tracks by the outrageous interplay of light and color and form that nature provides all around us.  And, it's free for the taking!... These landscapes were all taken in The Town of Brookfield or Town of Sangerfield with the exception of the one of The Great Smoky Mountains."

Stop by and see the exhibit before the end of February!

Also able to happen over the weekend was the Miller's Mills Ice Harvest tradition.  After being canceled several years in a row due to poor weather conditions, this year was deemed a large and successful event.

Data has again been retrieved from the Village's radar speed signs. The portable sign has been placed on NYS315 for the past 3 weeks. I have noticed first-hand that this sign's presence has made a huge difference in slowing vehicles down coming into the village. Reminder that the sign records data at the time the vehicle passes the sign, not when the vehicle first registers on the sign. Buell Ave (Route 315), from March 11 - April 1.
