- AROUND TOWN -

Mother's Day weekend is upon us! Sunday is the exact day to be ready for the mother figure in your life. The several days of on and off rain have indeed brought more May flowers. A sight that's not getting old. We don't have any pictures of Saturday morning's snow. It melted off by noon, and we'd just like to forget that beautiful white blanket occurred.
Go back to East Bacon St. to spot the tulips we accidentally cut off while gazing at the blooms on the branches above! The street itself is a pleasure right now with a canopy of blossoms.

While we didn't take photos, MPS was full of activity as students experienced their first full day back since 2020. One more reason to toss a thank you to our local teachers and beyond during Teacher Appreciation Week. There's also May the Fourth be with You and well as Cinco de Mayo to celebration this week. But from the sounds of cheering at ball fields, sidewalks filled with those seeking fresh air, and general activity, there's plenty of celebrating just the bit of normalcy returning to life in our community.

As light passes through these hexagon-shaped ice crystals, it is bent at a 22 degree angle, creating a halo 22 degrees in radius (or 44 degrees in diameter). A double halo, sometimes with spokes, may be seen on rare occasions when light reflects off water or ice.      The prism effect of light passing through these six-sided ice crystals separates the light in...
