Big news on the 15th Annual Cruisin' Into Waterville:

TRANSITIONING TO CRUISE THROUGH WATERVILLE…

In light of current events, Cruisin’ Into Waterville has transitioned into what IS possible with all of the hurdles out there- there are many, and they are limiting. However, that does not need to limit our community spirit.

On Saturday, September 19th, enjoy your Cruisin’ Chicken BBQ Takeout style at Noon, per usual.

A continuation of the Village Bandstand Concerts will take place in the park, with Live Music from 12-3 pm. Wear your mask on over, set up a safe 6’ distance, and enjoy a fall afternoon.

All of our wonderful past Cruisin’ Vendors are welcome to join in our Online Vendor Market that will take place from September - December. Enjoy pursuing this Market for your favorite Fall finds, as well as some holiday shopping.

While there cannot be an official Car Show this year, we encourage classic and unique car drivers to enjoy a Cruise Through Waterville. Soon, we’ll post the WHS Walking Tour of Waterville, which highlights some of the landmarks and architecture of our community. Turn this into your own Cruise, with a Chicken BBQ, and bit of music, and you have fine fall day.

We can, and have, thought of many other ways we would love to celebrate the 15th Annual Cruisin’ Into Waterville. However, we encourage you to not dwell on what we cannot do. But to keep our community spirit alive. To support what we can do, and to support all of our fantastic local businesses and organizations all year round. Updated details about what we can do will be shared in upcoming days on social media and at watervillefirst.org

Stay Strong Waterville. Stay Connected, and let’s Cultivate our Community.

Wednesday evening the clear skies and approximately 70 degree air made for a beautiful summer concert at the Bandstand.  Nick Piccininni entertained a happy crows, all spread throughout the park. The live music on the now Cruise Through Waterville day on Saturday, September 19th will be the last performance of the season.

Earlier in the week, the Waterville Fire Department welcomed home their new truck thanks to the Village and the Barton Trust Fund.  Videos of the truck in action can be seen on their Facebook page  With a light tree, cordless tools, and more, the details of this truck will help the volunteers make use of every second.

Data has again been retrieved from the Village's radar speed signs. The portable sign has been placed on NYS315 for the past 3 weeks. I have noticed first-hand that this sign's presence has made a huge difference in slowing vehicles down coming into the village. Reminder that the sign records data at the time the vehicle passes the sign, not when the vehicle first registers on the sign. Buell Ave (Route 315), from March 11 - April 1. Traveling into the village: Total vehicles: 22,424 0 - 30 MPH: 11,715 (52.24%) 31 - 35 MPH: 4,431 (19.76%) 36 - 40 MPH: 3,022 (13.48%) 41 - 45 MPH: 1,891 (8.43%) 46 - 65 MPH: 1,365 (6.09%) - Some of these vehicles were moving over 75 MPH.
