- AROUND TOWN -

From WCS librarian, Katie Parker:
"Throughout the month of March, members of the Waterville school community have been competing in a March Madness Bracket-Style Chess Competition in order to determine the best chess player at the Waterville Central School District.  Fourteen individuals, ranging from seventh graders to school administrators, signed up to demonstrate their prowess @ the school library in a single-elimination chess tournament.  On April 5th, after four grueling rounds, eleventh grade student Tyler Keith retained his title as Waterville CSD Chess Champion.   Tyler was also the 2016 WCSD Chess Champion!  Congratulations to all who competed!"

Spring sports have also begun.  Jody Hildreth captured these images of Varsity Softball vs. Remsen:

Everyone seems to be crossing their fingers that these are the last snowflakes we'll see for quite some time!  At least there are more and more pretty Spring decorations to admire each day.

to the right of the house is this adorable tree (much more visible as you're driving or walking by)
