Sunday looked a little different at the Waterville United Methodist Church as a hot air balloon filled the side yard!  Postponed due to rain during Vacation Bible School, all ages were encouraged to head inside the air filled balloon for a "Balloon Walk" corresponding with this summer's Lift Off theme.

WFD Captain Brian Cossette, firefighter Vinnie Sullivan, and firefighter Andrew Roys participated in the Res Q Jack Stabilization University hosted by Greek Peak Mountain Resort. It was a great classroom educational and hands on training. Thanks to the Village of Waterville for continuing to fund
these great opportunities for our crews!!

Data has again been retrieved from the Village's radar speed signs. The portable sign has been placed on NYS315 for the past 3 weeks. I have noticed first-hand that this sign's presence has made a huge difference in slowing vehicles down coming into the village. Reminder that the sign records data at the time the vehicle passes the sign, not when the vehicle first registers on the sign. Buell Ave (Route 315), from March 11 - April 1. Traveling into the village: Total vehicles: 22,424 0 - 30 MPH: 11,715 (52.24%) 31 - 35 MPH: 4,431 (19.76%) 36 - 40 MPH: 3,022 (13.48%) 41 - 45 MPH: 1,891 (8.43%) 46 - 65 MPH: 1,365 (6.09%) - Some of these vehicles were moving over 75 MPH. - WEATHER - ***** - IN THE MAIL - We are hosting Brewnival at the 16 Stone Brewpub! A day filled with Brews, Carnival Games, and Music to benefit Spring Farm Cares!  The banquet hall will be setup with carnival games and music! We will have a special brew for the day and have some sampling from Tri-Valley Beverages with a few other suprises! Our Weenie Mascot, Bunz, will also be in attendance for Pictures and Dancing. The Melt Gourmet Grilled Cheese LLC will be here serving up some cheesey goodness! More to come!
