- AROUND TOWN -

Saturday morning a Community Drive-Thru was held, as community members from the It Takes a Village Diaper Bank (through the United Methodist Church), and community donations given to the Waterville Public Library joined together for drive through service. During a pandemic, exchanging goods is a little trickier. But with a quarantine in place, winter gear and toys could find new homes, donated books found children for Christmas, and diapers & wipes could give families a bit of ease. Just check out the stats shared by the Diaper Bank below.

Santa came to Waterville!
Thank you to Trustee Jim Younes and WFD Chief John Salvaggio for coordinating Santa’s trip through town today. Also, thank you to Sean Baldwin and Whitey Brown for chauffeuring Santa with the WFD rescue pickup and new rescue fire trucks.
Santa didn’t look half bad either if I say so myself...
Merry Christmas!
“I'm not just a whimsical figure who wears a charming suit and affects a jolly demeanor, you know. I'm a symbol. I'm a symbol of the human ability to be able to suppress the selfish and hateful tendencies that rule the major part of our lives. If you can't believe, if you can't accept anything on faith, then you're doomed for a life dominated by doubt.” - Miracle on 34th Street

Just when we thought no one could beat Santa's smiling face, this photo popped up on social media thanks to OnMyTeam16.
This is Cole, one of OMT16 POPs, and his brother and dad. šŸ’ In August, Cole was admitted to Dana-Farber Cancer institute to start his bone marrow transplant process. Cole and his family just returned a month ago to their home in Upstate, N.Y. The transplant was from his brother Jake. šŸ§”⁣⁣
Here is what Coles Dad had to say: “Our family is humbled by the level of support given to our family by OMT16 and several other gracious organizations. We are also forever grateful for the level of care given to Cole by the Upstate Children's Hospital team in Syracuse.”.⁣
Cole will be one of the many children receiving a special holiday gift from OMT16 because of all of our wonderful supporters - thank you! šŸŽ
Please join us in welcoming Cole home, and wishing him and his family a very happy holiday.

We don't think we're speaking out of turn, when we say knowing the Campbell Family is home and gaining strength is one of the best gifts possible.

We couldn't let evening lights take over all of the recent photos when the snow has been so beautiful too.

Babbott Park remains open for walking. The sidewalk plows will continue to need to plow the park last, but they get to it!

Whatever your holiday may be, whatever unique ways you spend it this year, may you find the happiness in it!
We'll see you again on December 28th for the last post of 2020!

-IN THE NEWS- Although the groundhog did just predict an early spring and it certainly felt that way for a few days, it seems we are going to be getting a little more winter. With predictions of lake effect snow up to 10 inches by Friday morning and frigid weather coming this weekend it's probably best if we all enjoy this time doing something indoors with friends and family. For the latest on this winter weather visit cnycentral.com . ****** -IN THE MAIL- -The Farmers Market has been cancelled for today- From the Waterville Farmers Market: "Because of the weather showing more snow and gusty winds into Thursday, we are canceling today's market at Morgan's Hardware. We hope you will come out to see us at the next one in 2 weeks." Some wonderful country photos were sent in by Colin Kelsey from his drive through Oriskany Falls.  Last weekend Jeff Reynolds family came up from South America to visit. They enjoyed the spring like wea...
