Thursday night's storm has left many still waiting and hoping for power to be restored, and many working hard to clean up and remedy the damage. In the early evening, wind, rain, thunder, lightning, and some hail hit in varying amounts depending on location. A second storm rolled through in the after midnight.

The Academic Fair & Ice Cream Social took place at MPS on Thursday night right as the weather took a turn. However, the kids and families turned out with great projects and attitudes.

Meanwhile, the storm calmed for a bit bringing some colorful skies.

When the DPW isn't cleaning up damage of sorts, they're doing things like installing new bike racks for us all. This first was installed in front of The Grille. More to come.

At the Historical Society Wednesday Night, Lou Langone presented on "Railroad Days." This and similar talks are free and open to the public.

Last Friday at Common Thread CSA:

Waterville School's fifth graders joined us on Fridayfor an interactive tour of the farm as part of their Farm to School program. It was fun having them

here. The students enjoyed shucking and tasting popcorn, learning about herbs, kale and obscure root vegetables, getting a hands-on soil texture lesson and seeing what is going on in the greenhouse.
